Magenta Tumor Silk Velvet Ikat Fabric — 100% Handwoven Silk This velvet ikat uses the Tumor (damask-style) layout, where the motif expands symmetrically along the warp. The pattern forms through abrbandi dyeing, with the warp threads coloured before weaving, creating the softened contours typical of Uzbek ikat. The velvet pile is cut from a double-layer weave, giving the fabric its dense, low sheen and directional shift. The colours—magenta, dark red, and golden—behave strongly on silk velvet. Magenta absorbs dye deeply and shows its full tone when the pile is brushed upward, while dark red grounds the pattern and adds structure. The golden areas catch light sharply, giving small highlights without metallic thread. This combination is often chosen for autumn and winter garments, or for interior pieces where warmth and colour presence are desired.
